Frequently asked questions

Which BMW head units support CarPlay?
NBT, NBTevo (iD5/iD6) and EntryNav2. NBTevo also supports wireless CarPlay when the Wi-Fi antenna plug is connected. MGU (iD7/iD8) usually has CarPlay already.
Do I get wireless CarPlay?
On NBTevo with the Wi-Fi antenna, yes. Other units use wired CarPlay. Send your VIN and we will tell you which applies.
How long does activation take?
The VIN code is generated within a few minutes to a few hours. Applying it takes minutes via USB, or a short remote session if we do it for you.
Do I need any hardware?
No — CarPlay activation is a software unlock. The only exception is wireless CarPlay on NBTevo, which needs the Wi-Fi antenna plug present in the head unit.
Can you activate it remotely?
Yes — we can install the activation for you over TeamViewer or AnyDesk, or you can apply the code yourself via USB.
