Texas BMW coding FAQs

Will coding cause issues at my next Texas state inspection?
No. Texas inspections check brakes, lights, tires, horn, mirrors, wipers, seatbelts, exhaust visibility, and OBD-II for some counties. KDR Coding does not touch any of these systems. Your inspection result will not change.
I run a BM3 / MHD tune on my F80 / F90 — does coding conflict?
No. Tuner software runs on the engine ECU; coding runs on body, infotainment, comfort, and chassis modules. They live in different places and do not interfere. Many F80 M3 and F90 M5 owners run both.
Can you enable the hidden tow hitch menu on my G05 X5?
Yes, if your G05 was pre-wired with the optional trailer module from the factory. The coding activates the existing hardware so the trailer menu, trailer lighting check, and trailer stability control appear in the iDrive. If the trailer module hardware is not installed, coding cannot create it.
What time should I book if I am in Dallas or Houston?
Evening windows from 7 PM to 10 PM CT (5 PM to 8 PM PT) work best. Kadir is fresh, the calendar is open, and you can code after dinner without rushing.
